And built-in system backup and recovery ensures your configuration and log information is always available. Choose to run a backup weekly or monthly. The appliance automatically backs itself up to not one, but two redundant internal disks to ensure you always have what you need.
Enabling Secure, Anytime Anywhere Management
The appliance acts as a meeting place for the remote client and your core server, even if servers are behind firewalls or rely on a proxy to access the Internet. The functionality is similar to an email Web portal where users communicate through the machine’s firewall to connect to the portal and then connect through the corporate perimeter firewall to the backend email server.
The LANDesk Cloud Services Appliance brokers a secure socket-layer (SSL) connection between the managed system and the backend LANDesk core server where LANDesk Management Suite and/or LANDesk Security Suite are installed. A certificate issued from the core server secures a pipeline and establishes a trusted relationship. All data is SSL encoded. Management agents on remote systems authenticate to and obtain a client certificate from the core server, authorizing the management agents on the client systems to communicate with the management services on the core server through the appliance.
Clients only access the core server, not the corporate network. You avoid punching holes in your corporate firewall, keeping it secure. Remote and local clients function the same and are managed transparently, ensuring minimal impact to user productivity and the organization.
