LANDesk Software, a global leader in systems lifecycle management, endpoint security and IT service management, today announced it has acquired Wavelink, a leading provider of mission critical mobility management solutions. The acquisition of Wavelink will further strengthen LANDesk management solutions and enable the company to provide true end-to-end mobile management. LANDesk will maintain the Wavelink brand and product lines. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This acquisition is the second for LANDesk in 2012 and further strengthens LANDesk’s position as a market leader in IT end-user management. Both LANDesk and Wavelink customers and partners will benefit from the acquisition, which will allow extended reach across all mobile devices – from smartphones to line-of-business mobile devices, as well as complete mobile application management solutions. LANDesk and Wavelink will continue to deliver highly differentiated solutions based on unique business needs across vertical markets and individual customer requirements.
Today LANDesk announced that it has acquired Managed Planet. Managed Planet solutions extend the rich data that gathers through LANDesk Management Suite and LANDesk Security Suite solutions to provide IT with key analytical data related to their software estate. Managed Planet analytics solutions are offered as LANDesk® Data Analytics.
Managed Planet has partnered with LANDesk since June 2011 and they have been building interesting and useful LANDesk add-ons for many years. This acquisition will strengthen LANDesk’s capabilities to manage the explosion of software that IT departments deal with on a daily basis and provide our customers better visibility and control of their software assets.
